They may be aggressive if they feel under threat, hummingbirds are also gentle creatures and will happily come and feed from your hand if they feel safe.
Hummingbirds do not attack humans, they are just curious to see if you have any food and after predicting the food they will get very close to people as they know they can fly off pretty quick. They just don't have the body weight to do damage to another human being.

There are no laws preventing a hummingbird from touching you however, it is illegal to trap, hold, or control a hummingbird without a permit. Therefore, you are perfectly within your legal rights and it is safe to pick up a hummingbird if it is in distress or to hand feed a hummingbird.

Do hummingbirds roam at night? 

In some locations especially if where is artificial lighting such as porch light  hummingbirds may feed well into the night, usually during warmer weather. These creatures do also fly at night, but this almost always happens during migration.

The needle-like bill of a hummingbird is its most unique physical trait although the bill is extremely long and thin compared to the bird's overall size, but it's used as a tube for the bird to lick nectar from flowers, sap wells, and feeders with its long and agile tongue.
